Variety has confirmed that Jackie Chan will play Mr. Miyagi in the upcoming remake of The Karate Kid. Jaden Smith, who takes on the Ralph Macchio role is of course the young son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. The film, titled Kung Fu Kid, which unlike the original will take place in China.
I am beginning to wonder if Hollywood set out to ruin all my childhood memories… What next the Thundercats with a digitally de-aged Shawn Connery playing Lion-O, or maybe He-man staring Nicolas Cage and Edward Norton as Prince Adam?
