Captured American journalist Laura Ling and Euna Lee will be tried in a North Korean court for “hostile acts” and illegally entering the country. Laura Ling, who is Lisa Ling’s sister and Euna Lee were captured on March 19 while filming for Current.tv. According to KNCA, The North Korean state news agency:
The illegal entry of U.S. reporters into the DPRK [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] and their suspected hostile acts have been confirmed by evidence and their statements, according to the results of [an] intermediary investigation” conducted by North Korean officials"
Preparations are being made to try the journalists “on the basis of the already-confirmed suspicions.”
That is some scary stuff. I hope the best for the two and hopefully we get the back safe and sound.
