Zac Efron Is No Song And Dance Man

Highschool Musical sensation and teen hearthrob Zac Efron was slated to be in a remake of Footloose but dropped out to avoid being typecasted as a song and dance man. According to E! Online:

Efron was attached to star in the film but supposedly pulled out of the project to avoid what was fast becoming a typecasting issue—to date, the Disney grad has sung and danced his way through three High School Musicals, Hairspray and even the Oscars.

While Efron has yet to publicly address his reasons for dropping out of the project he has been attached to since July 2007, his move came after the most recent rewrite of the remake’s script. Efron told Paramount he didn’t want to do another musical at this point in his musical-heavy career.

What the hell, are there not enough laid-off writers that can come up with movie scripts rather than just taking something from the past and absolutely destroying it? I am so sick and tired of these played-out “Let’s remake *insert movie here*”.

I agree.

All of these remakes, re imagings, re tellings, or whatever unoriginal Hollywood wants to to call them, (they are STILL RAMAKES guys) are pathetic.

It takes no talent to just re do classic films. Please leave them alone Hollywood.

Zach was smart to bow out of this pile of piss.
